I miss her dearly every single day and can't get enough of her when we get to see each other. The Lord definitely brought her into my life 5 years ago for a reason and that reason has definitely shown. Keep doing what your doing, Jessica. God has great plans in store for you, as always. You are a mighty and strong woman of God and I encourage you to keep going full force in whatever your heart desires. I love you girl. xoxo.

So I just started reading this book and already, I can not put it down. I am no further than the 43rd page and already I am realizing many things. Of course I am not going to put myself out there and tell you what I am realizing, but I do have to say that everyone should at least read this book once, if not own a copy of your own. This book allows you to open your eyes to reality and not fairytale land... yet you think that sounds horrible because doesn't everyone want to live in a fairytale? Ha. Please, take the time to pick up this book and learn your spouses love language. This is a MUST read for all couples, promise. =]

FISH EYE FUN!

So everyone was aware that I got a new camera, right? Well... when I got it I was telling my hubby that I wanted a fish eye lens but they were like out the bootay in price so I was disappointed. Well, long story short... I got home from work on Friday and there sitting on my photography portfolio was a FISH EYE LENS! :) I was so excited I couldn't even stand it. And ofcourse I didn't know how to work it so I had to call up a friend... it was like one simple twist. Haha! Directions do come in handy. ;)

I have not blogged in ages, or so it feels that way! But believe me... I have plenty of things I could've blogged about since the last one. :) I'll make this short and sweet and then make a mental note to blog more often!

Today is Tuesday!
Tuesday nights usually consist of band practice for the guys and Kendra and I sneaking off and raiding clothing racks. But, not tonight for us girls because Kendra and I are getting a ONE HOUR MASSAGE! I can not wait. :D I might be the weird one but when I get a massage, I like it to hurt. And now you might find this funny but this is the kind of massage I'd enjoy...!

So today was quite an interesting day! I had two shoots scheduled but one ended up cancelling due to the weather, which I have to be honest.. I can not complain. Reason being, Trace was in Greenville getting his car worked on so I had nothing better to do than spend my alone time... SHOPPING! I bought a pair of jeans, a new dress, and some girl scout cookies!!!! :)

Step 6: Bag the cookies and head for a walk to see the miniture horses down the street! Let's go!

I woke up this morning to rain...! Ah, much more enjoyed them snow. =]

It makes me that much more anxious for spring to arrive! But the down side to rain is that it brings a day that is meant for curling up on the couch and either a) reading a good book or b) watching some good movies. Neither of which I can do, but what hey, bring on the oatmeal and workout dvd and let's have a good- rainy- Wednesday!

Saturday Photoshoot

This past Saturday I scheduled a shoot outside because it was "suppose" to be warm-er with better weather. Well, on our drive to Greenville it definitely felt warmer and looked nice but not even joking, the second I started clicking- the wind REALLY picked up and it all of sudden got crappy out. So my first thought was 'great, these pics are gonna stink and the guy here is leaving for the coast on Monday and there will be nothing I can do about it.' =/ Well, 2 hours later with wind blown hair, we finally got some good results. =] Take a look for yourself!!

New Moon

I know most of you think I am crazy, but I am completely and utterly addicted to the Twilight series. I finished the second book in less than 2 days and it's close to maybe 600 pages. Not to mention, I worked 8 or so hours each day. Trace thinks something is seriously wrong with me. hehe. Anyhow like I said, I finished the 2nd book which was titled New Moon. I have to say that this book was a hint better than the first; a lot more drama with suspicion. I won't give away any clues because I'm trying to get Amy to start reading them. I told her that if she just reads the first chapter of Twilight- she'll understand and not be able to put it down. =] We'll see.

This is the part of winter that I absolutely love. Yesterday, on my drive home, I was wondering when the tree limbs would be covered in a white sheet of snow and ice... and literally the change was made over night. So ironic! As I drove to work this morning I noticed that there was not a tree that wasn't covered. It was so so beautiful that I honestly stopped out in the middle of the country, grabbed my camera and snapped this! =] I hate the cold, but I love the beauty of winter!

This book is by far one of the best books I've ever read. I'm not just saying that because everyone and their moms are saying that, I'm being truthful. I found myself getting up at 5:30 AM to turn on a lamp and read a couple chapters before work. It is that good! And yes, the question of the day is "isn't that book about vampires!?" ... yes, it is. You're so right! But your mythical impression is so wrong. All I can is it's a MUST READ!

My nose has been buried in this book since last night. I actually made fun of those geeks who waited in line for hours to go see this movie until my best friend, Kendra, became one of those geeks. haa. (love you, girl) She bought all 4 books and demanded that I read them and I have to say, I am quite surprised at how addicting this book really is. I'll let you know how much I liked it in a day or so.

And this is just a quirk... I found this sweatshirt shoved in the back of my closet! I laughed so hard because I never thought I'd be one to wear these um... totally unfashionable shirts but guess what, I am today! hahahahaha!

Refreshing Morning

As most of you know by now, I fight Duncan (my dog) to get my extra beauty sleep in the morning because once Trace leaves for work, he is up and ready to start his day. Let's just say that 5:30 AM is never in my morning schedule... other than today it was! Once Trace left for work, I laid in bed for a bit longer and decided that I was going to get up and have myself a cup of hot tea and edit some pictures I took last night. It was nice! I feel like I've had lots of extra time this morning, in no need to rush! Boy do I need more mornings like today. But... now it is time to get ready for work. So be sure to have a blessed day!

Lounging in my robe with a sick hubby

So the past three days have been nothing short of refreshing. As most of you probably already know, Trace has been really sick. He came home from work last Monday vomiting, so of course we thought he had the flu. On Tuesday he was feeling a little recouped but still having a really bad sore throat, that was getting worse by the minute. Therefore on Wednesday, he went to our local Urgent Care to have them test him for strep. Well, his strep test came back negative and they gave him a couple prescriptions hoping for some kind of fix. As the hours go on, he is only getting worse including a hacking cough. Finally on Friday he goes to an actual Doctor, hoping they'll know what they're talking about this time. He finds out that he has an acute respiratory infection but they still felt like he needed some blood work because he may have mono. Well, it's now Monday (which we should get the results back today) and he is still having coughing spells that last 15-20mins. Yesterday was the last time he vomited, so we've crossed that off the list for now. So now I am getting to the refreshing point.... haha. Since I had to take care of him, I spent two whole days lounging on the couch in my robe, watching movies (except for those moments of running around trying to soothe my honey with hot tea, popsicles, soup, toast, yogurt, medicine, etc.). It was so nice! =] Trace even asked me last night if we could spend more nights at home... he couldn't have read my mind any better ;]...and that's why we're perfect for one another.

New Years Eve

Oh... I am already half way through the work day and the rest shall fly by like a breeze. I can not believe that today is already New Years Eve. This year sure did soar by faster than ever. It really is true, once you get married and devote to a lifestyle... life just passes you right by. I don't want it to be that way, ya know? I want to cherish each moment and make the most of each day. Sadly to say, I fail at that quite often but don't we all? ... I can remember back to the millennium and everyone was gabbing about how the world was going to end and here we are... 9 whole years later. Man, I can remember that night just as if it were yesterday. My friend and I were sitting it our little matching beanbag chairs with our eyes glued to the tv. Surely the electric would go out or some big bang, but no. Everything was as normal as 1999 at 11:59pm. Ahah! Anyhow, you all be sure to have a blessed New Year. Remember to be safe and responsible.

As Linds says, "he loves his Auntie Ash."! And I sure do love him to pieces.

Our Youth Group

As most of you already know, Trace and I took over the youth at our church. Well, I can't really say we took it over because we didn't have any youth to start with that even attended the church, so really... we headed it up. lol. Well here is my praise report... All of the young kids you'll see below are now dedicated youth members and I must give all the GLORY TO GOD! He has been doing an awesome work in these young lives and it has been such an awesome experience and I know that He has SO much in store for us. I just know it and speak it.

Christmas Spirit

this is just the start of my wrapping. boy, do i really need to get my butt in gear.

Lately our house has been filled with rolls of wrapping paper, scissors, random pieces of tape that Duncan has stuck to the bottom of his feet, evergreens, sugar cookie scents, and more certainly... the Christmas spirit! I can not believe that Christmas is what, 15 days away? Oh boy... do I love this time of year! Later on in the week will begin my very favorite part about the preparation of Christmas and that is... holiday baking! Trace is making some peppermint patties and I will be making white chocolate covered pretzels! If I remember, I'll be sure to take some pictures and share the yummies! :)

Baby Brooks

On December 1st at 5:29AM, my best friend gave birth to a healthy 8 lb. 7.1 oz baby girl! Kendra was scheduled to be induced at 6:00AM but she obviously missed that by 31 mins. I tell everyone that she is a real woman because, what you typically don't hear much anymore, she delivered naturally. :) I am going to leave you with a couple shots I took on Sunday night. It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS

So Trace and I put our Christmas tree up last Firday and the other night Trace goes... "I can not believe there is a christmas tree sitting over there, time is going by so fast!!!!". It is sooo true. Anymore, I feel like I wake up, head to work, come home and eat dinner, then go to bed. Well, that's excluding all the errands, photo shoots, church, etc. going on inbetween. Anyhow, I wanted to share a little piece of our holiday so far. I apologize for the lack of pictures. :)

Morning Madness

Ah! I woke up this morning with the urgency to put up all of my Christmas decor. I surely didn’t get too far because everything I took out of the box, Duncan was afraid of. The dog is 10 months old and over 100 lbs. and just about everything scares him. He tries to act all tough but honestly, he is a big baby. Trace chases him around with the tv tray every once in a while just to put him in his place. Although it sounds mean, it’s hilarious. So on with my morning… I ended up putting our stockings up and then realized that Duncan thinks they are toys hanging from the mantle that has made into a game of “put them up and I’ll pull them back down!”…. isn’t he the greatest. Haha. But on a side note, one of our cats, Star, jumped into the big box filled with all of our Christmas decorations and it scared Duncan so bad that he jumped on the couch (which is a HUGE no-no in our house!) and hid his head behind me until I got Star out of the box. You so had to be there, I laughed so hard. Oh… and another interesting thing that happened this morning…. ! So to get to our laundry room, you have to go out through the door in the kitchen and through the garage. Usually, I let Duncan come with me but this morning I just wasn’t in the mood to chase him around the garage. Well, if you shut Duncan out of the garage, he’ll jump on the door in hope to push it open… oh boy was that a bad idea. I started a load of laundry and when I went to open the door… IT WAS LOCKED! I never thought it would happen but he actually jumped on the door to push it open, but instead… turned the lock and locked me out. Here I am in my pj’s, hair on the top of my head, and to top it all off… Trace’s SIZE 14 slippers. Seriously, like I am going to go ask the neighbors to borrow their phone so I can call someone to break into my house. haha. I had no idea what I was going to do. But… I got lucky enough that Duncan jumped up onto the door… again… and he must have hit the lock because I was in the midst of turning the knob and the door came open. I couldn’t be mad at him because of his intelligence. lol. I think that was his way of telling me to never lock him out of the garage again. And that’s the end of my morning madness! :)
